COLLECTION EXHIBITION IN BUDAPEST

NKS 21/39/46
Works from the International Ceramics Studio Collection.

At the Eötvös10 Művelődési Ház in Budapest.

30.10.2024 - 24.11.2024

Until 2018, the International Ceramics Studio also had a permanent exhibition space in Budapest - in the Museion no 1 Gallery at the end of Üllői út - which provided an important connection to the capital. Since then, the focus on our growing collection has become less, so this exhibition presents a selection of works from the last seven years.
This varied exhibition presents a selection of figurative and non-figurative sculptures. Individual solutions, unconventional use of materials, unique surfaces, hand-built, cast and plaster-pressed works. Breath-thin porcelains, block-like earthenwares, insoluble objects, human figures reflecting different emotions, unique structures, moving ceramic objects, animal figures will fill the exhibition space, creating a special atmosphere for the visitors.

Exhibiting artists: Lubloy Zoltán, Rejka Erika, Geszler Mária Garzuly, Boldizsár Zsuzsa, Szabó Ádám Csaba, Maróti Viktória, Antal Kitti, Kecskeméti Sándor, Simon Zsolt József, Szalai László, Csávás Ruzicska Tünde, Zakar József, Kungl György, Simon Holpert, Polyák János, Husz Ágnes, Roger Gou Trias, Rafa Perez (SP), Yasuyo Nishida, Matsumoto Hideo (JP), Tamara Van San (BE), Simcha Even-Chen (IL), Janina Myronowa (PL), Susan Halls (GB), Deidre Mcloughin (IRL), Vladimir Groh, Jindra Viková (CZ), Daniel Chau Yu-Shing (HK), Öműr Tokgőz (TR), James Tisdale (US), Kiungok Yoo (KR), Claire Curneen (UK), Debra Sloan Evelyn (CA), Irina Razumovskaya, Vladimir Tsivin (RU), Yuriy Musatov (UA), Velimir Vukicevic (SRB), Henna Nuutinen (FIN), Ricus Sebes (DE), Simon Holpert (FR), Dag Bratbergsengen (NO)

The program is open to all artists who wish to work independently on their own projects. Artists may use the residency to accomplish a specific project or to work in a creative and supportive atmosphere alongside other international ceramic artists.

INTERDIMENSIONAL with Etelka Meixner
21 - 24 November, 2024

The essence of my experimental works is transparency and its illusion, examination of overlaps and depth effects caused by the sensitivity of layers and translucent glazes. The relationship between overlapping porcelain layers is not transparent in reality, but the layer-sensitive glaze creates the appearance of it. To produce this, I intend to present 3 techniques, negative plaster carving, raw wet dripping, and playing with sheets of which we make plaster negatives.
