| | | ✓ From airport to downtown
Public transport with Tokyo’s local transit is efficient, frequent, and the most cost-effective way to reach the city. From Narita International Airport (NRT): The Narita Express (N’EX) train takes about 60 minutes to reach Tokyo Station. (JPY ¥3,070) A similar type of public transportation, the Keisei Skyliner from Narita, arrives at Nippori Station, so please be aware that you need to transfer to the JR Yamanote Line (the loop line around central Tokyo) to reach Tokyo Station. (JPY ¥2,750) Alternatively, the Airport Limousine Bus connects to major hotels and districts in about 90 minutes. A one-way fare between Narita Airport and Tokyo Station is JPY ¥1,500 (JPY ¥3,000 for late-night and early-morning services). Tickets with a designated departure time can be purchased at the ticket counters inside each terminal building at Narita Airport. All seats are unreserved.
From Haneda Airport (HND):
The Tokyo Monorail runs every few minutes and takes about 20 minutes to reach Hamamatsuchō Station, where you can transfer to JR Yamanote Line.( JPY ¥690) Keikyu Railways operates direct services from Haneda to Shinbashi.( JPY ¥550) *Most stations are equipped with ticket gates that accept VISA contactless (tap-to-pay) payments. The Airport Limousine Bus is also available from Haneda Airport, providing direct access to major hotels and districts in about 35 minutes.( JPY ¥1,200)
Taxis are readily available but can be expensive - expect around ¥20,000–30,000 from Narita and ¥6,000-10,000 from Haneda, depending on distance and traffic.
