I’m excited to announce that my work will be featured in a compelling new exhibition at the beautiful Melissa Ichiuji Gallery, opening November 2, 2024. The show, titled “BODIES: Water, Land, Flesh, Evidence,” is a thought-provoking group exhibition that explores the multifaceted concept of "bodies"—from the physical forms we inhabit to the elemental and environmental forces that shape our existence.

I’ll be exhibiting along with 23 of the regions best artists, including Janis Goodman,  Craig McPherson, Tom Mullany, and Chris Stephens.

I hope you’ll join me at the opening reception on Saturday, November 2,  3-6 PM.

Melissa Ichiuji Gallery  •  223 East Main Street  •  Front Royal, VA 22630

Parking is available on and around Main Street and behind the Gallery building on Cloud Street.

Please note that I am not participating in this years Rappahannock Fall Art Tour.

Studio visits are available weekdays and weekends by appointment.

A New Series In-Progress

“Slow-Motion Parade” is a melding of time and memory. Our movement through life leaves a vapor trail of memories and feelings—echoes of our experiences that linger long after we’ve passed. Some moments are infused with joy and love, while others are chaotic and disorienting, filled with the frenzied rush of unexpected turns. In this new series, I envision this timeline as a parade in slow motion, where colors, textures and forms blur into a dreamlike sequence of moments.

Though still a work in progress, “Slow Motion Parade" has expanded from the initial four images to the thirteen that are currently available for viewing on my website, ronparas.art, with more to be added soon. Be sure to check them out.

RIP Old Locust Tree

A Sad Farewell

One of my favorite subjects over the years has been an old locust tree, a steadfast presence on my farm that has graced many of my photographs across various series. I photographed this tree many times in every season and in all kinds of weather. Each session revealed new details and moods, making it a constant source of inspiration.

Sadly, I must report that my old, gnarly friend met its fate during a recent wind storm. I will miss its twisted branches and the stories it held within its bark.

Below are some of my favorite images featuring this beloved tree, each capturing a unique perspective.
