Best Practice Network Welcomes Wheelchairs for Kids!

We are excited to announce the recent sponsorship of Wheelchairs for Kids, a remarkable non-profit organisation making a global difference. We’re thrilled to welcome them into our community of manufacturing professionals committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Founded in Western Australia in 1996, Wheelchairs for Kids has been providing life-changing support for over 27 years. Their mission is to deliver fully adjustable, all terrain wheelchairs to children in need across the world, completely free of charge. To date, they have distributed more than 61,000 wheelchairs to over 81 countries, empowering children with mobility who would otherwise face significant challenges.

This volunteer driven initiative thrives on the power of community involvement, fostering a strong sense of purpose and connection. We would like to highlight the contribution of recent 2025 Senior Australian of the Year, 83-year-old Br. Oliver (Olly) Pickett (pictured above). As the Volunteer Factory Manager at Wheelchairs for Kids since 1996, Olly dedicates six days a week to overseeing operations, and he is soon to embark on a nationwide tour as part of his recognition as Australian Senior of the Year. The collaboration between Wheelchairs for Kids and Best Practice Network brings valuable networking opportunities, recognition of shared goals and a chance to celebrate their success.

Best Practice Network is excited to support and collaborate with Wheelchairs for Kids in their incredible mission. If you’d like to learn more or explore how your company can get involved, we encourage you to reach out to us and watch the short 3-minute inspirational video via the link below which highlights the impactful work of Wheelchairs for Kids and the strong manufacturing efforts behind their mission.

Together, we can make a meaningful impact.
