Canal do DF no YouTube
passarão a estar no canal YouTube público do DF Physics@Tecnico.

No passado dia 23
No

YouTube channel Physics@TecnicoThe DF has created a new YouTube channel aimed at disseminating material in video format that is relevant not only to the DF community but also to the general public. One of the purposes of this new channel will be to make available the DF Colloquia, which over the years have featured a number of exceptional speakers. So, in order to make the talks available to a wider audience and to guarantee the preservation of this important heritage, they are now being recorded and will be available on the DF Physics@Tecnico public YouTube channel. The videos of the colloquia by Professors Francis Halzen, Luís Oliveira e Silva and Uwe Kzarnetski are already available.
The DF would like to thank the team organising the Colloquia, coordinated by Professor Guilherme Milhano with the collaboration of Krinio Marouda and Giorgio Laverda, who made it possible to create yet another communication channel for our department.

| | LEFT/MEFT and DF at FuturáliaOn 23 March, LEFT and MEFT were present at Futurália, which was held at FIL-Lisbon from 20 to 23 March. In general, the visiting students were familiar with the course and asked questions about how it works. It was also possible to discuss with some parents about our approach to teaching, which is geared towards developing broad competencies and skills to facilitate a constant adaptation to a rapidly changing world while maintaining the quality of the education in the LEFT/MEFT courses. Members of NFIST and Noisr showed the secondary school students the activities they could carry out on the course and answered all their questions. | |
| | Visits to the DF LabsDF laboratories carry out important work to publicise IST and its activities, regularly receiving high-school students. These visits are organised by NAPE (IST Student Support Center) and typically take place in the first half of the year. On March 11th and 18th, the Tokamak laboratory of IFPN received 120 students from the Restelo School Group.
On March 22, the Tokamak laboratory also received 27 students from the 3rd year of the Integrated Master's Degree in Nanotechnology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). | | LEFT: Challenging the Limits of Science and Technology
As in previous years, the LEFT/MEFT Coordination and the Department of Physics (DF) are organising the “LEFT: Challenging the limits of Science and Technology” event. This meeting is especially dedicated to all high-school school students, potentially future LEFT candidates. For two days (27th and 28th June), we will publicise the research being carried out in the DF through visits to laboratories and “micro-lectures on super topics” where, in a relaxed and informal environment, we will share physics and technology issues that we investigate, our paths, applications, etc., through presentations of a topic in 10-15 minutes.

We invite the DF community to publicise this event in the secondary schools they come into contact with. There are posters at the DF office that can be collected for display in schools. All the information about the event can be found here. | |
