| | This is the first newsletter of 2024. The winter in Ferrassières had many sunny hours, was very dry, and had high temperatures for this period. There were some nighttime frosts, but actually no days with ice, and apart from a few stray flakes, no snow. Worrying because nature longed for precipitation. Until early March, when we had several days of heavy rain and even quite a bit of snow, which didn't stay here but has since left a beautiful layer of snow on Mont Ventoux. Full-on winter sports with all ski slopes even open. During the second weekend of March, there was a lot of rainfall, all rivers were under pressure and changed from almost empty streams to swirling rivers. The last strokes of winter, for which we are grateful.
On Mont Ventoux, there has been more than 50cm of snowfall.
The precipitation has disappeared, the sun is back. Spring begins!

During the winter period, we were not idle here
Some sick and dead trees were felled and removed. To promote biodiversity, we built a large insect hotel in the residence garden from leftover materials and what we could use from the garden. The residence underwent a complete deep cleaning, and a satellite receiver was installed on the roof so that we can offer our guests a more stable internet connection. We are ready for spring!

Résidence Château Ferrassières and Easter
The Château was built in 1870 as the country house Château le Plan. In 1957, the country house was purchased and converted into the "Colonie des Vacances". Many children enjoyed a few weeks of vacation in the healthy outdoors during those years. The tower was added to the building during that time. In 1998, the holiday colony was disbanded, and over the years, the Château fell into disrepair. Until the idea arose to create a residence with luxury holiday apartments in this old country house. The idea for Résidence Château Ferrassières was born. Renovation began in 2014, and in 2016, it opened its doors to our guests.

| | During these works, three panels of colored tiles were found, clearly indicating the previous destination of the building, made by the children and/or employees of that time. Too special to be lost. The panels were restored and laid the foundation for the color scheme of the residence's interior. The playful images depicted on the panels strongly evoke Easter, partly due to the colors used.
